Staying until morning: closing times and overnight options

Staying until morning is why a lot of people come. But the closing times are further apart than expected: the earliest shuts at 03:00, the latest at 07:00. If you are planning a full night, read the table first.

Two ways to stay, very different prices

1. The lounge recliner

The cheapest option. Most venues charge a flat fee per person, from a few dozen to just over a hundred patacas. The downside is noise — televisions, conversation, people walking past — and after 03:00 the seats fill up.

2. Pay for a room

More expensive, but quiet, with a door, and you actually sleep. Charged by the hour, usually on the same scale as an extension. For two people it is not necessarily much more than two recliners.

Three in the morning is the line

After three, almost everyone still there is staying. The lounge fills, so claim a recliner early; the rooms, on the other hand, open up as guests leave — which makes a room easier to negotiate late.

The kitchen is mostly closed by then too. If you want a proper supper, order before one.

The two that cannot

The Excellent Sauna closes at 03:00 and Manhao Spa does not offer overnight stays. If the plan is “until morning”, rule both out — not because they are worse, but because they do not fit.

Three questions before you decide to stay

1. How is the overnight fee calculated? Per person, per hour, or included in the tier.
2. Is breakfast included? Most serve something simple, between 07:00 and 10:00.
3. What time must you leave? Some overnight arrangements end at 10:00 and charge beyond it.
